What's Up With Tiffany Tene' January 2021

Happy New Year friends!

Since today is the start of a full New Year 2021 week, I thought that I would announce what you can expect on my Lifestyle and Business website and blog this year.

Fashion Style and Vintage Look Books

I am creating more Look Books and videos! These looks will consist of new and gently used clothing coming straight out of my store tene's armoire.

Also, because I am in the business of reselling, and often sell Winter and Summer clothes year-round, some of my looks will be out of season. This will not only help you plan ahead-get a head start before entering a new season, but will save you money, and put you in the same frame of mind as the fashion industry-As you know, they are always a season or two ahead of us.

Curating My Poshmark Store

At the beginning of your Poshmark journey, Poshmark suggests that you display a variety of styles and items, including jewelry, accessories, and handbags.

After a few months of selling, you will be able to see what sells the best in your store. Your best sellers list can also change, over time. You can continue to sell a variety of items, or you can curate your store/ closet.

Note: What sells fast in someone’s else’s store will not necessarily sell fast in your store.

Currently, I have boutique items, swimsuits, men's clothing, jewelry, jeans, blazers, home decor, and vintage items up for sale in my Poshmark store. (I am a seller on Mercari and Etsy, but Poshmark is where you will always find me!)

I Choose To Curate My Poshmark Store

What consistently sells the best for me (including on Etsy and Mercari ) are handbags.

In fact, my first online sell in my Posh store was a Steve Madden handbag and wallet. Not too long after my first sale, I started investing in and restoring Coach and Fossil vintage bags.

So for 2021, I will shift my focus to reselling vintage bags, and vintage clothing on Poshmark and Etsy.

Selling Directly On My Website

In 2021, I will make tene's armoire available here on my website. This will consist of tene's armoire vintage looks, handbags, home goods, and photography in canvas form.

In addition to the above, I am currently in the middle of my first foreign investment project which I will talk about more if or when things get finalized.

Extraordinary Care

My very first successful business!

(Picture was taken by my now 12-year-old son. He helped me take this picture so that I would be able to post my first professional photo online when he was just 7 years old.)

With intentions to expand, teach and help provide another source of income for Travelers and Digital Nomads by connecting them with the Elder and Senior Community, I have come to the final realization and conclusion that I am always at my best and more successful when providing one on one care for Seniors and people with disabilities. Career-wise, the medical field is my greatest strength.

By providing one on one care, I can personalize my service in an unrushed manner, build trust, and long-lasting and genuine relationships with my clients and their family.

Not to brag, but The Senior community loves me!

While on hospital assignments, they used to always ask if they can take me home. After continually hearing this, along with a nudge from my first Senior Client, I started my own Care Concierge Service in 2009. In 2012, I dropped my name and made my service name Extraordinary Care official.

More About My Senior Care Services

I am creating another page that will include several of my one on one private services, and also updating my corporate consultation page.

I will no longer be teaching how to start a private senior care service, and will not be writing an e-book, but will forward the necessary information that is already out there to you.

In the past, I was a Certified Nursing Assistant and had no interest in becoming a Certified Caregiver. Really, you don't need to be a Certified Caregiver when you have your own Senior Care business in most instances. But times are changing, and the title Certified Caregiver looks damn good for your private business when meeting a potential client and their family.

Whether you are new or have been doing this for a long time like me, my advice is to get certified.

I also advise that you only get your Certification from the original American Caregiver Association.

The American Caregiver Association has been around since the '80s. After passing the Certified Caregiving test, you will be put on the National Registry for Certified Caregivers. This means that you will be recognized as a Certified Caregiver in all 50 States.

Also, after you pass the exam, you can buy a badge/Caregiver ID card which will have your name or your business name, along with your certification number, the date it was issued, expiration date, and your active certifications. Your laminated Caregiver ID card will have a QR code whereby you can scan with your smartphone. After scanning, your QR code will take you to the Caregiver Association website to verify your card’s authenticity.

You can also take additional classes to upgrade your position and skills. (There is an Assisted Living Manager class that I wouldn't mind taking.)

Website User Guide

I'm creating a simple website user guide. For instance, have you clicked the Tiffany Tene’ tab on my website bar? If you do, you will see the above picture, along with a couple of other photo slides. Here, you will be able to just click on the main categories of my website.

Why Create a Website User Guide?

Because every website and web page that you land on is different. Sometimes you may end up clicking on things that are not clickable, not really know what’s clickable, or unsure how to navigate a certain website to get to what you need or want.

I want to be sure that all aspects of my website are user friendly.

Africa

I will be blogging more on Africa, and the many cultures and countries within the continent, while dispelling myths.

I have had a love affair with Africans and been involved in the culture-specifically Nigerians, Cameroonians, and Kenyans, since 2003.

There was even a time where I wore headwraps and traditional Nigerian clothing. After starting my business and then moving away from my African friends in Houston, Texas I somehow stopped.

Funny story-When I relocated to Corpus Christi I was like, where are all the Nigerians?… I can't find them…well, I won't be here for long! Lol. The only Nigerian I came in contact with was my aunt’s doctor.

I would like to share my story and experiences with you here in the culture section of my blog. I had a written out plan, including art sketches as to how I would share the continent, and expose the lies and myths about Africans since 2004, but never pursued it.

After my Nigerian friends and former co-workers engrafted me into their culture, I became more aware of my African roots. They then began teaching me about Nigeria. By careful observation, I was able to recognize the differences between certain African cultures.

Out of the blue, I made a statement to my Nigerian co-workers after an African man walked down the hallway at work. I said, “He’s different from you guys. He is not Nigerian!”

They all raised their eyebrows, smiled, and was curious to know how I was able to make the distinction- because most of the African Americans who worked with us thought that they were all the same-including me until I started to show interest.

At that time, a lot of African Americans whom I was around or worked with did not want to hear the truth about our African history-not even my family. So leaving the ignorant behind, (I too was ignorant until I did my research) I kept myself surrounded primarily around Nigerians. They became my new family here in Houston, Texas.

My DNA Test

I took my DNA test in March 2020 and the results show that my Maternal genes consist primarily of Nigerian DNA.

Screenshot_20201110-172742_Photos+(1).jpg

I was so excited and overwhelmed as I looked back over the years to see how the Universe strategically placed me around these people. I was so overwhelmed that I cried!

So this is why I am so attracted to the people, the music, Nigerian movies, the food, the language…Though It didn't start this way…

ohhhhhh! When they sing, and dance, and speak, I feel it so deeply in my gut!

Before taking my DNA test, a lot of Nigerians told me that I didn't have Nigerian features. They told me that I had Ethiopian features. Some told me that I looked Eritrean.

I look nothing like my grandmother who's facial features display more of our African roots. These are her genes.… My maternal African genes.

I have also been mistaken for mixed Asian, Philippino, and Middle Eastern.

My Mixed Race

I am a mixture of European Spanish, on my grandfather’s side, (mom’s dad), and Native American Oklahoma Cherokee on my dad's mother’s side of the family. My dad told me that his father’s brother stated that we were “Black China Men”, who carried the name Yee, but this has not been proven to me as of yet.

I can't wait to share my African journey here in Houston, Texas, as I still can't get over this confirmation of my Nigerian roots.

Next, I need to find out what tribe I come from.

Well, I'm already claiming the Wodaabe tribe, after reading and watching videos about them-but will do an official Tribal DNA test sometime this year.

Hotels

Plan on reading more about my hotel reviews stays and points in the traveling section of my blog.

Hotels are my sanctuary and get away from the “mom life”. Lol

Seriously, Moms, especially homeschool moms, do you ever get time to yourself?

processed_20201128_081637.jpg

I’m talkin' extended time away from the house-overnight, weekends, or a whole week or two!

If not, I hope to inspire you to get some me time.

My stays will start off midscale, and upper midscale, and will progress to upscale, luxury, and resort.

Screenshot_20200519-171601_Photos.jpg

I love staying at hotels because I don't have to cook, or clean. I love being pampered, and pampering myself. I love people and places to accommodate me sometimes.

I am a natural nurturer and caregiver, so this is a must for me.

Affiliate Sales Page

As a new affiliate marketer, I have some pretty awesome brands that I have partnered up with! To help get the word out about time-sensitive sales and promotions that you wouldn't want to miss out on, I will create a special sales page. Here, you can come to my website, check the sales page, and be one of the first to take advantage of these special offers-Some may have promo and discount codes.

I love a good deal, so think of me as your own Personal Shopper!

Beaches and Islands

In the traveling section of my blog, I need to focus more on the Islands and beaches. According to my Pinterest account, this is where my numbers and saves are the highest.

Guys, I have been talking about beach hopping Corpus Christi for 2 years! Please forgive me. I had a lot of soul searching to do since moving back to Houston from the Islands.

I was planning on Beach Hopping before I decided to be a Lifestyle Blogger-er, you know…, remember when I was always trying to inject traveling and style on my Senior Care business site? lol.

Screenshot_20190109-200229.png

Also, since I’m a mermaid I have to be around beaches and lakes for optimal health! This is another reason why I need to travel and am relocating again.

Sometimes you have to take a deep look at what environment your whole being needs to be in-mentally physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Daily weekly and monthly happenings

At the very bottom of my website in the footer, I will start displaying pictures, videos, and gifs of my life, business, trips, kids, promos, and other Tiffany Tene’ happenings.

Travel Guides

I am looking forward to getting out and about a bit more so that I can create local city and beach guides.

To tell you the truth, since moving back from the island, I have been a bit of a homebody.

processed_20200517_162727.jpg

Yes, I get out for business, out in nature, and go out dining now and then, but definitely not as much as I used to. Before moving to the Islands, I could never keep still. I stayed out runnin’ the streets!

processed_20200303_163108.jpg

Houston, Corpus Christi, Galveston Island, and Arkansas have a lot to offer! I would like to display more information about these places in the travel section of my blog before and in between traveling abroad-and possibly becoming a local guide, or relocation specialist.

It's on my starting multiple businesses list!

More Poshmark Selling Tips

As my regular readers already know, I am overly obsessed with Poshmark. I began making Poshmark tip videos on Instagram and YouTube a while back but discontinued them. I feel that I am now more orderly, so I will be continuing my tips this year here on my blog.

Also, looking forward to doing reselling and wholesale tours for new E-Commerce merchants, and offering more digital services! Stay tuned…

Screenshot_20201110-215644_Photos_2.jpg

Well, I will end this blog post here, and get back to planning and working on my new web pages! If you haven't subscribed to my blog, now would be a great time to. Don't forget to read my about me page to find out what else I’ve got up my sleeve. Also, follow my pins on Pinterest, and check out my store on Poshmark.
